Save Mount Diablo - Mission is to preserve Mount Diablo's peaks and surrounding foothills, through land acquisition and preservation strategies to: protect the mountain's natural beauty, integrity, and biological diversity; enhance our area's quality of life; and provide recreational opportunities consistent with protection of natural resources.
Greenbelt Alliance - Mission is to make the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area a better place to live by protecting the region's greenbelt and improving the livability of its cities and towns. Since 1958 we have worked in partnership with diverse coalitions on public policy development, advocacy and education.
Sierra Club - Mission is to Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth. Practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources. Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment. Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
California Native Plants Society - Mission is to increase understanding and appreciation of California's native plants and to conserve them and their natural habitats through education, science, advocacy, horticulture and land stewardship.
Concord Naval Weapons Station Neighborhood Alliance - Goal is to preserve a minimum of 80% of the CNWS for open space/parks and recreation, for ourselves and for future generations. We have encouraged the city to focus on minimal development near the Concord North BART Station.
EnviroJustice is a new organization that promotes environmental justice through education, activism and mobilization from a progressive, faith-based perspective. We are global in scope and local in focus.
ACORN - The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, working together for social justice and stronger communities.
Friends of Lagoon Valley - The vision for the Lagoon Valley , the western gateway to Vacaville , is to have a nearby, accessible, open, green, peaceful, urban getaway that everyone can enjoy. The valley will be restored, preserved and protected to serve as a natural interactive learning environment for Vacaville's priceless heritage of natural, cultural, and prehistoric resources.
Save Pleasanton's Hills - No Mega-Mansions - The Oak Grove Development proposes to build 51 homes on the rolling hills on the south side of Pleasanton. These homes can be as large as 12,500 sq ft (this doesn't include garages or accessory structures). Currently Pleasanton has few or no homes this large. The project proposes that homes can be three stories tall for a total height of 44'. These will be massive structures (think Home Depot big). Currently, nearly all Pleasanton homes are limited to 35' and two stories.
Friends of Mount Diablo Creek - Friends of Mount Diablo Creek is a community group that seeks to increase awareness of Mt. Diablo Creek and its watershed, to preserve and restore the creek's habitats, and to add to the quality of life for the residents of Clayton, Concord, and Clyde. The group's goal is to learn more about the watershed and how to be good stewards of its natural resources.
